So after testing some of the items I posted earlier these are my results.
1. The Gerber hook blade: Small and nimble, great for cutting rope, paracord, string. I found it really good for fishing line. Holds a good edge, not sure how you would really sharpen this one anyway (guess a small hand file.
Well those were the good points, The bad were really "BAD" I've carried this knife for about half a year. I think I have spent more time looking for it then using it. The key-chain holder is junk. The fist two days I had it I found it twice in the parking lot of my office. It just won't stay in the sheath (if you can call it a sheath)
I could see this in a BOB but not for a EDC.
2. Gerber GDC Zip. Now this one I like. It has spent its life so far on the zipper of my hunting jacket. Been used to open food packages, cut a opening in the screen of my hunting blind, cut trail marking tape and just odds and ends. Pretty sharp for what it is but not to sharp that your think your going to cut your fingers off.
This is a great buy, 15 to 20 dollars and its small and compact.
3. SOG Small Tactical Tomahawk. Been using this for about a year and it has held up great. Small size works perfect for a day pack or a BOB. I've done a little grinding on it mostly on the spine and rear tine.
Sharpened that area like this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1UI5C1AVA8&feature=related).
Otherwise it works great for chopping up small items like kindling for fires and such. I also think as a throwing hawk it works really well, even know the head end is heavy. The only down fall is the sheath. after carrying it on my day pack for awhile I noticed the thread that was used to put the banding on was starting to come off. Not at all anything to do with the hawk, just think it may have been a bad run of sheaths.
4. CRKT FA-12. This is one of my EDC's and has been for almost, I think 10 years. This little neck take everything I have given it and always comes back for more. I have used it for everything under the sun and if I remember right only had to put it to the stone maybe two or three times.
This is one of those knives you never give up, It is hooked to my EDC bag (sheath also has a clip) and has been for years. From cutting stuff at the camp site to gutting fish and using it for everything in between, this is one mean little knife.

Just so everyone knows, most of the stuff I test are items that everyone can afford. Knives, tools, EDC items, paracord items and even some items that are designed to be made by hand.
I'll pick up things I think are helpful for bug out bags or useful tools to just carry.
If you have any questions on the items I post drop me a message.
Thanks
RJ

New Site
Well we will see how this goes, I have been wanting to start a testers web site, some place people could stop by to see things I have that I have been using to see if they are worth the purchase or not.
From EDC (Every day Carry) items to items I have found that people say you can make and use with little to no cost. So we will see.
Thanks for stopping by and a new test should be up soon.
